When Your Remote Transforms into Cricket Bat…!

Indian Premiere League is one of  the biggest and richest sports leagues in the world. IPL is a cricket festival that is celebrated every year in our country in which finest players from all over the world take part. These teams are formed by various franchises and players are selected by bidding. It is a league purely run only by money. The telecasting rights of IPL matches had been with Sony network until IPL10 came out .But in recent bidding, Star India won TV and digital rights of IPL matches for 2018-2022 with a whopping  bid of Rs.16,347.5 crores

During every IPL season from IPL1 to 10 there was match a day, which would start by 4:00PM IST, throughout the week.  During weekends there were two matches: the first one would start by 4:00 PM and the second would commence by 8:00PM IST.As Sony didn’t have full fledged sports channels, there had been no overlapping of matches over these years. But the Star India is going to change the timings of matches. On weekends first match will start at 5:30 PM IST and second match will start at 7:00PM .As they have four sports channels under their network they want to overlap the two matches. The main reason is to increase the viewership to all their channels. But the problem is the second match will start parallel to the second innings of first match. IPL fans will have no option except to watch one match on TV screen and the other through Hotstar app on mobile at a time.  Or you have to play with your remote to watch two matches at one go.
