Can MPs and MLAs Change Their Roles?
Fortunately, Indian democracy has two ‘houses’- one for the nation and the other for state or province- Parliament and Assembly. Political parties along with Independents in the fray can fill them.
In 2019 polls BJP and its allies filled most of the seats in (the lower House) the Parliament.In some of the the states, Rajasthan, Madha Pradesh and Karnataka, It made almost sweep. However, Congress and its allies are enjoying majority in the Assemblies of the respective sated.
The MPs (of the largest Party) elect the Prime Minister and the MLAs, in turn, choose their CM, and not the other way round. But the BJP is trying its best to put these state governments in jeopardy. Please Watch the vedio:
