To<\/span> err is human. We consider some as above errors. Learned judges fall under this category. If they too err…? No such supposition shouldn’t arise. It’s no surprise to many that the Supreme Court of India has given ‘clean chit’ to the Union Government in Rafale Deal. Modi’s team too heaved a sigh of relief with this outcome. The happiness so derived didn’t last long.<\/p>\n

The opposition parties too their positions in hitting the ruling NDA, even after the judgement was delivered. The Government, in a note submitted to the apex in a sealed cover, had conveyed the findings of the CAG’s report on the deal. But the Government came on record after the delivery of the Judgment, that the said court had erred ‘grammatically’ in reproducing the contents of the government’ s note in the Judgement.<\/p>\n

As pert the Government’s version, it had conveyed the SC that it’s customary to give the report to Public Accounts Committee(PAC) (saying ‘the report is given to CAG’) and the redacted report will be placed before the parliament(saying’the report is placed before the Parliament)<\/p>\n

But the Government now claims that Court has taken the ‘procedures’ as the actions taken( ‘The report has been given to CAG’ and the report has been placed before the Parliament)<\/p>\n

The Government is harping on SC’s alleged\u00a0 mistake of ‘TENSE’. Now it’s the turn of the apex court to respond.<\/p>\n
