But can one dream of marrying two women\u00a0 in\u00a0 one\u00a0<em>Mandap <\/em>(platform) on one <em>Muhurat <\/em>(auspicious occasion)?\u00a0Yes.<\/p>\n<p>Sandeep, from a tribal hamlet of Madhya Pradesh, married\u00a0 \u00a0both\u00a0 his girlfriend and the girl choosen by his parents on the same day\u00a0following\u00a0 all the rituals required. when I narrated the\u00a0 story to my mumma ,it was a jaw down moment for her. we both giggled ,looking at each other and suddenly I asked mumma what if I do the\u00a0 same and have grooms beside me? Without wasting a second she started chiding and snapping at me. After my soul was\u00a0 satisfied when she underwent anxious moments, I slowly with innocent face\u00a0 replied that I was just kidding. She heaved a sigh of relief . My inner feeling was different:\u00a0It may take many more generations for a girl to marry two men on the same mandap, thanks to the deep rooted patriarchal thinking in the society.<\/p>\n<p>Then, I was thinking about the above girls that how did they agree to marry the same man. Beecause a girl can&#8217;t even\u00a0 lend a <em>saree<\/em>\u00a0(Indian clothing for women) to other woman.\u00a0 How the co-wives share a husband? May the almighty help the man!
