\nseen a populist one. The very\u00a0 announcement of ‘increased realisation’ scheme to farmers for the Kharif crop at the cost of rising inflation proves it.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Huge National Healthcare protection scheme, Bigger outlays for scheduled castes and tribes, Education scheme for STs,\u00a0 Free gas connections for poor women and Initiatives for fishery, animal husbandry fall in the same line. A big rail project for Bengaluru,could be a demo piece in poll-bound Karnataka.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The introduction of long-term capital gains tax and a tax on mutual funds will undoubtedly dampen the spirit of investors.<\/p>\n
The BJP has been perennially in election mode ever since it came to power and has won trophies in good number. It suffered erosion to its image in equal count, say Jats and Rajputs unrest, farmer agitations, and Naxalism in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n
To be fair, the party has its sway in the country securing\u00a0 19 out of 29 Indian states without resorting to overt and obvious populism barring the promise of farm loan waivers. But the fever of 2019 polls have made BJP’s strategy more populist. The Budget has proven this.<\/p>\n
