Success Chances in Early Polls: Fifty-Fifty
KCR is as good as his word. He has unplugged the ongoing Telangana Assembly.
It’s not new to Telugu Chief Ministers, to pull the chain in the middle of the tenure. N.T.Ramarao went for dissolving the House, after he politically survived the first proverbial ‘back stab’ in 1984. N.Chandrababu Naidu stood next to him in recommending dissolution in 2003, after Naxalites had made an abortive attempt on his life at Alipiri. Now it’s the turn of KCR to play the same card.
All the three are the birds of the same feather. They were taught in one school-NTR trust. Reasons for going for early polls haven’t been the same for the trio. While NTR wanted to enhance his party’s strength from wafer thin majority to comfortable tally, Naidu did it to capitalise on ‘sympathy factor as had narrowly escaped the ultras’ attack. KCR is going for early polls not to give a breathing time to his rivals to muster their strength.
Not all, who tried their luck early, were triumphant. When NTR made a comeback Naidu tasted defeat after the premature conclusions of the Houses. No one knows what’s in store for KCR!
