KCR’s Gimmick : Two Enemies-One front
Telugoos stoutly deserves a patent on Third Front. Be, it a National Front (NF), United Front (UF) or KCR’s Yet-to- be named Front, they have been almost the brainchildren Telugu Leaders. It was NTR, who spearheaded the earliest one (1989), NF, as its Chairman. Chandra babu Naidu, following the convention, became the convenor for next one (1996), UF. Now it’s the turn of Naidu’s counterpart, KCR to float another one. Isolating and countering the National Party in power has remained the main motto of the Third Front now.
When NTR’s NF isolated Congress and paved the way for V.P.Singh to form the Government in the centre, whereas Naidu’s UF kept BJP at bay and made Devegowda and I.K.Gujral the Prime Ministers successively. KCR’s proclaimed precondition for forming the Front is opposing both BJP and Congress. NTR’s NF had a reason to oppose Congress: Charges of corruption symbolised by Bofors. Naidu’s NF too had a pretext: Communalism demonstrated by demolition Babri Maszid.
What reason can KCR cite now to keep both BJP and Congress at Bay? Is it a Million dollar Question? Or Million Dollar Corruption in common?
