BJP Needs Girls from Telugu Screen!

Saffron Party, which so far has inducted Yogis, Seers, Monks and God men in the north, is now looking for glamour dolls in the south. In Telugu states, BJP is in the hunt for Telugu heroines. Oophs! Can they find them? Largely they draw blank. Telugu filmmakers have sparsely allowed Telugu girls to be heroines. But the BJP leaders haven’t lost hope. They could find two familiar but not popular faces, Madhavi Latha and Reshma Rathore, who have Telugu origins (the former from Coastal Andhra and the latter from Telangana). But they have decent academic background. A popular Telugu heroine of yester years, Kavitha, had joined BJP earlier, shifting her loyalties from TDP.

It’s not new for BJP in wooing film stars from Telugu States. Vijyashanthi, who was once acclaimed as lady hero, made her maiden entry into politics by joining BJP. She could not stay longer. She came out and founded her own party.

The female film stars in BJP,  have so far ended up either as poll- campaigners  or one-time- contestants. Will these two girls meet the similar fate?
