K.Siva Reddy To Get Kabir Samman Award

K.Siva Reddy, a veteran Telugu Poet, has won the Maharashtra Government’s  prestigious award, Kabir Samman.

This award, which was established in 1986, is  given away every year for a poet who writes in an Indian Language. Along with a plaque, Rs. 1.5 lakh is given away to the awardee. He will be the first recipient from Telugu language.

Siva Reddy, earlier won Sahitya Academy award to his work, ‘Mohana.. Mohana..’. Though he settles down in Hyderabad of Telangana District, he hails from Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh.

He was born in 1943. He actively takes part literary events of both the Telugu speaking states.
